I have plans to add compatibility for downloading youtube videos directly into the directories of a media server, so (for example) you can download a video right into your jellyfin installation, all through the website.ĭo you find this useful (would you use it on your server, or recommend it to other people)? Here are some pics of the UI (its pretty much exactly like the old one I tried to keep it as similar looking as possible):
I also converted all of the previous HTML files from the old repo, and made them into procedural generated pages, allowing for more user customization (at the moment, the user can only customize the webpage title, but I'm planning on adding support for changing the theme via the config file). This version is written in flask, instead, so thats why it took a while for me to get to this point of completeness. Its currently a work in progress, but its basically the old UI with new features. So, I decided to work on my own version of the program ( ). The path names are meh, like "q", what does that mean? Thats a minor issue though, tbh it doesnt really matter There was no way to download the videos to a specific directory in the server its being run on There was no way to download it through the browser, onto the machine you are browsing with There was no way to authenticate users and restrict access to only people you want to access it The assets were downloaded via a CDN and were not locally stored However, when I tried out the server application on my own machine to test it, I was disappointed in a few ways. Earlier, I saw another redditor was using an application called youtube-dl-server ( ) which greatly interested me.
